We have a pretty major Renfest by us. I use to like to go but it got way to expensive! You can easily blow a couple of hundred bucks on a family of four. And that's just to get in and maybe eat something!
Another thing that got me is how the term "Renaissance" has been blurred to cover at least 5 different time peroids. (according those who dress up anyway )

Yeah - I can understand the money thing. With just the two of us, we covered $100 for the day - and didn't walk out with much more than a couple of cross stitched Welsh dragons.
Although I can within a hair's bredth of buying a hand made sword for the wall display at home.

I like the pic where the one knight is grabbing the other's helmet. looks like an armoured kiss waiting to happen.

Yeah- they had both lost (broken) their sticks. That was the second just before a Glasgow Kiss.
It would have been good to get on film, but after taking that one and noticing how many people were going to be behind the shot, I gave up.

Actually I found very little of that in this one. They weren't to really go out and solicit people to come to the stalls. They were all standing outside them with their wares and would answer questions, but not anything really related to calling out for them to come in and see.
Although, there were some of the musical groups that a following and it got really annoying as you are hearing them talk. "We are the Minstrels of Mayhem", cue about 100 people in crappy period attire "Ah-HEM!"
